West Chazy, New York
A mixer works best if you use wet feeds. Corn silage is wet and palatable enough that you can add low cost dry ingredients if they are available. Ground cardboard, straw, scrap candy, wood fines, food waste, etc. Whatever is in your area. The main thing is that a certain amount of wet feed keeps the dry material from separating out and deters sorting.
