SE North Dakota | Funny thing about bearings on the ripper. About 15 years ago we used to have the guys grease the disk bearings every other day. Well we hired an older guy that was a neighbor and we rented some land from. Told him the same about greasing the disks. Well we started having all sorts of bearing issues after he was working for us them couple falls. We asked him do you ever grease the bearings and he was like yeah every other day. Well I was reading in the book and it said something like every 150 hrs or twice a season. Turns out he was the only one actually doing what he was told and actually greasing them and nobody else had been. We just grease them up when we start and another shot part way through the season. Never have bearing troubles anymore on the case rippers. I got bearings on the shelf from previous models. Bearings were getting over greased and pushing seals out and letting dirt in. | |
