I have a pellet grill. Its not a treager but they're all pretty similar. I wouldn't want to be without it for things that require a long low temp smoke like briskets and ribs. The stick burner guys well tell you it's not a real smoker and it's the last way but I don't think you can mess up a cut off meat on one. You won't be disappointed
