Subject: RE: Deere 2730 vs CaseIH 875

Pontiac, IL.
I have a Deere 2730. Couple of neighbors have the 875. Both do a great job. Deere is stretched out a little more. But I have never heard anyone say that the 875 was too short and wouldn't let trash through. Biggest complaint I have heard about both is the bearings going out on the disk gangs. I was complaining to a friend about the bearings going on on my ripper. He said, "I'll bet it is a red one, ours go out often". I said, " no, mine is a 2730". So I know BOTH of them have bearing problems. I was told that a big farmer near here trades every year, so he don't have to replace bearings, My pocketbook is not that deep.
