Absent regulations we tend to, I dunno, kill people, and cause environmental and ecological disasters. The amount of regulation that we have here absolutely pales in comparison to the UK and Europe. 




There are easily 100's, probably 1000's of regulations that are nothing more than a tax and a reason for some govt office/job to exist.


Filling 2290's for exempt trucks so that the ladies at the courthouse can sell me the tags for our trucks really chaps my a__ every year.    At the very least it should be able to be done in a couple minutes for FREE on a govt website instead of waiting weeks for the USPS to deliver mail to a slow as molasses govt office to stamp a piece of paper or paying a ransom to some website that handles it for you.




Last I heard you can scan the form to the IRS directly, but usually we just have it thrown in at no cost with the rest of the tax work.
