perryton, tx | I forward sold some Milo at .20 under. The lady in charge strongly hinted that the basis would be widening in short order. I should have been more aggressive and sold more bushels but I let doubt take over and I didn’t. The basis promptly moved to .50 under. So I, as in me, myself, cost myself 30 cents a bushel. Not Trump, not USDA, nor anyone else. After harvest I sold the rest at .50 under but what was still a decent cash price. Now, if suddenly China comes in and starts buying Milo and we get a rally I won’t be in position to take advantage of it because of the decisions I made. I should have waited to see how things would shake out with the China situation but once again I’ll have to live with the choice made by me, myself, and I.
