Because the usda was off on both crops so much it was embarrassing. Soybeans never recovered even with ending stocks lowered from August 2024 guess of 560 down to a final of 330 because of the trade war. Corn didn't rally as much as it should have with the demand off by a mile because planted acres this year was the highest its been anytime in modern history. So yeah prices were down in 2024 but that has nothing to do with this trade war that didn't allow a rally that should have happened. Pretty hard to argue it when the last 3 weeks price action has been all about China.
