S Illinois | Not sure about a gift. If China bought 7-10 loads they may or may not have gotten cheaper beans depending on freight and basis and if they had a futures positions on already. And now tomorrows 6-7 cargoes and the same amount they have to buy each day the rest of the week and each work day for the rest of the year became more expensive. Hard to hide 10-15 million bu in daily purchases.
