No one was "forced" from the U.S. Company CEO's willing sent jobs to China for the good of the shareholders. Maximize profits, yada, yada yada. Take 3M. They would Develop products, put the production lines together, and then send them to China? Why? Could then not make money making products in the U.S.? Sure they could. But they could make MORE money having products made overseas.
This isn't a regulation problem. It's a Capitalism problem. Capital chasing maximum returns will always sacrifice labor.
We have environmental regulations because there are hundreds and thousands of tons of radioactive waste buried around St. Louis MO. There are tens of thousands of barrel's of DDT dumped off the beaches of Los Angeles. Our city air had enough lead in it to cause brain damage. We can have a healthy environment and a healthy manufacturing sector, but not as long as companies can just throw up there hands and sacrifice labor to maximize capitol. That's why regulations were necessary in the first place.
This doesn't mean that communism is a good thing, far from it, but it means that the tools being used in this instance don't actually address the problems, that caused the situation, and are probably just making it worse.
