indiana | I was waiting for price to reach closer to $12 on the old crop soybeans to let a large portion go. Concerned whether it will get there , but still have faith. We sold old corn and soybeans in front of Friday's report . But not a significant amount. I appreciate your comments and especially appreciate Ehoff’s comments. China is a big deal, but so is the weather. In our immediate area we’ve had close to 5 dry summers in a row with less than desirable finishes, yet we’ve raised good crops. A perfect growing season across the majority of the Midwest would raise one Hell of a monster crop. The flip side of that is our soil moisture profile is depleted. Without timely rains yields could struggle. If nothing else these dry years have shown the importance of good drainage and that we yield better in dry years vs to wet. Keep posting, sometimes I can’t sort out what you are saying , but it makes me think. | |
