$3.50 and hour baling hay and straw in the late 80's. My dad talked about being paid .50 an hour in the mid 60's when he wasn't baling for his dad. They had an A John Deere and a 14t baler. The B John Deere was on a 7 foot sickle bar. They baled 15,000 bales of hay and straw every year for several years for them selves  and baled around 10,000 custom baling. Could you imagine doing that? It's no wonder dad bought a round baler in 96. He said,"I've had enough of watching that baler, or any other square baler **** out bales." Yes! We were still using that 14t. He had upgraded tractors four times since 1963 though.
