$1.25 was the going rate for full time men working at the local elevator, fertilizer dealer in the late 1960's.
Older guy down the road worked at the coop back when they worked every Saturday all year in the late 60s for $0.85 an hour with LOTS of hours then the 3M plant came to town 30 miles away in 1972 he went there making something like $4.25 - one heck of a jump!
