In hs I worked on a corn wheeler for $25/ day plus lunch. Days varied from 8-12 hours but was still $15. After hs I worked one winter in a factory, UAE union & I made $3/ hr. At the time it was the 2nd highest paying factory job in a city of 40,000. Highest paying was also a UAE facility, I think they got about 25c/ hour more than where I worked. This would have been in 1970
