WCMO-SWMO Area
Back in the early 1960's as a young teenager I worked for a neighbor when Dad didnt need me...He paid me 60 cents an hour..He had a A John Deere,F-20 Farmall, and a 50 Massey Harris..I drove them all plowing, cultivating, mowing hay, raking hay, riding the bale sled behind a side tie John Deere wire baler, etc..

After getting out of HS I worked winters at a local grain elevator...I started out at $1.60 per hour in the late 1960's and by 1973 was making a whopping $2.00 per hour..We were open on Sat mornings and I got $3.00 per hour then for OT..I got to deliver lots of ground feed with a 1968 Chevy C-60 bulk truck...I delivered bagged feed with a 1958 Chevy 2 ton and lots of horse feed with a 1967 Chevy PU..It was lots of fun as I got to go all over the county...Once a week I went up to the Kansas City bottoms and got a load of soybean meal..
