Stillwater OK | 10 cants an hour cutting thistles and milkweed out of grain fields. 25 cents hauling hay wagons, 50 cents raking hay. That was for neighbors didn't get paid at home and didn't ever think I should have. Sumer between 10th and 11th grade got $30 a month plus room and board for a dairy farmer. Senior year in high school got a job mainly driving tractor (even got to break in a new IH 560) $1.00 and hour $1.25 if I skipped school or Sunday. That was 1960.
Most I ever got was had a friend that was clearing trees for me and he needed help putting new master links on the tracks on his D6. He got $125 on hour for dozer work hand he said he would just trade hours for me help. Really enjoyed working with a friend for $125 an hour.
