In the mid 60’s dad would pay me like the other help picking cucumbers, the pickling contract paid 1 cent a pound for no 3 grade, 3 cent per lb for no 2,s, we picked on halves so if you picked a hundred pounds of the 1 cent grade you made 50 cent, takes a long time to pick 100 pound
