Hooker Twp,Ne | .75/hr. At age 8 and drove tractor in front of hay baler. At age 11 or 12 they put me on the hayrack. Got up to $1.25 an hour. At 16 went to $1.75/ hr. Case of Budweiser beer was $4 or 4.25. First job in town was $3.25/ hr factory job. Started day after graduation from high school. Hated it. Found job I liked but took .50/ hour cut. And with that had NO health ins benefits. Bought a new 1975 4x4 Chevy pickup for $5500. Now them were the good ole days. | |
