| My Uncle had a rotator cuff tear confirmed by MRI. His insurance required 6 visits for therapy before surgery. The therapy was very painful and after the first visit, he told the therapist what he could do with his therapy, that he would come in for the next 5 visits and sit in the waiting room but was not doing the therapy. That is what he did, the therapy company got paid and he got surgery.
Therapy was in no way going to help the torn cuff but the therapist wanted their pound of flesh, so to speak.
