I wont put a new tip on a used hose either. Easier just to replace it because you have to take it all the way off anyways. For me its the convienence and eventually you'll pay for it with the pieces. I usually try to keep 6 of every fitting in 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 on hand and then some odd ball 3/4s. Then have a reel of 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 inch hose as well.
