Subject: RE: Driverless loader

Maybe +5 years back the Millennial farmer. Took a JD 4 track tractor and huge central seed corn planter. Iirc 120 acre field. He manually planted outside round. Then resolved not to touch anything but radio, heat, ac, fan.

He failed to plant entire field without stopping tractor motion. Twice to use bathroom. Then once to go home and pull out Jim the hired man who had tillage 4wd buried. *he did check things when fertilizing*
But as I recall the equipment was fully capable. Tile inlets had been marked for years, other issues.
I see no reason grain cart tractors can’t be unmanned. They could follow behind combine, pull up to take hopper loads. Then drive only where combined to trucks. Then supervised pull up, unload, return.
All it takes is money.
