Pittsburg, Kansas | As a freshman in high school, while most of the other boys were looking at Hot Rod or some sporting magazine, one look at the Implement and Tractor magazine that our school Ag department had a subscription I was hooked.
Ok, so I was a weird kid. The magazine was an industry magazine and you had to be either a dealer in the organization and a member or a school or some other way of being associated with the farm machinery industry to get a free subscription. Our school got it free.
Well witin a couple years I figured out how to fudge on the subscription card some how and got a subscription. Had it all the while after school when I operated a farm equipment dealership for seven years.
While other high school kids drooled over cars or girly magazines, I drooled over the stuff in Implement and Tractor magazine. Newly published Nebraska tractor tests and such.
Like I said, weird kid.
