North Central US | Phone companies do try, it is why your phone may claim "unknown" or "potential spam". There are three or so ways of verification, a phone call must meet at least two to go through any more, except for emergency 911 calls, if it only meets one of the three verification ways, most phone companies do not let the call through, if it meets two of the three ways it will probably say "unknown" or "potential spam", and if it meets all three ways, it should read the correct called ID.
But to allow for incompetence or out of date systems, some have a greater tolerance than others. | |
