West Central Ohio | We always run poly fingers on our 922. Like mentioned above, steel fingers can damage internals on any machine, rotary or conventional. We have used some steel in the past. That ended after one broke and hit windshield, can't believe windshield didn't break that night. Also had a steel one not break and almost cut auger in half on our old 213 back in the day.
We see the most wear on the plastic guides where the finger comes out of the auger, poly finger seems to hold up well. I believe at one time the deere poly ones were fiberglass on the inside. | |
