BobNESD - 11/6/2025 20:57 Ok, so you think the manual transmission in the big ones isn’t any bigger or heavier than the one in my 2375?
Identical
Have you heard of them having trouble in the 435 and up?
Yes, the 485 or 535 have too much torque for long term durability with the manual.
I wonder if there’s any power shifts in those, they always seem to have the 12 speed manual.
Three transmissions were available on that tractor generation:
1. Okubo 12-speed manual
2. Twin-Disc 12-speed powershift
(phased out after a year or two
(2010?
) after the Cat transmissions were added to the product line
)
3. Cat TA-22 16-speed powershift
(435, 485, 535, 575
)
Note: There were some 435s built with the small-frame lighter duty axles and Cat TA-19 transmission in the early days as the budget-friendly model but are very rare. If not sure which Cat transmission you're looking at, go to the hinge joint on the left side and take a picture of the component serial number plate at the bottom left rear of the cab, and/or take a picture from that spot of the transmission and share it here. During the R&D phase, I made engineering move the location of the CAT logo on the transmission rear cover casting to be more prominent. ;-
