This year we ran over our COC ground with an Excelerator and followed it with an old Glencoe Soil Saver. Turned the ground black enough that we shouldn't have any issues running a soil finisher in the spring and then planting behind it.

Our goal was to bury residue, not break compaction, so the soil saver was the better option.
