Subject: RE: Disk chisel vs disk ripper

NW IA
I don't chisel enough to be an expert, but I would like to have a chisel with a coulter on each shank. I only have a knife roll corn head.

The problem I have is making little bunches of residue that roll to the side. Twisted points make the surface more "black".

My antique 7 shank Lundel would also be better with some sort of leveler on the back. It can leave some back-breaking ridges to level in the spring.

Just MHO, but I prefer the closer placement of points on a chisel over the ripper. It mixes residue more evenly in the upper layer of soil, hopefully while requiring less power, in my opinion.
