Subject: RE: Compressed air to clean out the sprayer

Holly Hill, SC
Each sprayer is going to be different. On my JD 4730 I put plastic ball valves one end of each spray section. Open valves and pressure master switch with pump off. This opens the solenoid valve and allows water to drain out. Do this about 10 times with boom in different angles. Also have valve at end of main manifold to drain water (next to pressure sensor) open and shut all valve multiple times on the machine. Also put some antifreeze in the inductor.

On my JD 408R with a built in air compressor: I have a 3/8 poly line that runs from the air tank to the rear lower strainer. Cut valve on at tank, valve on at strainer and press master switch with the solution pump off. After about three cycles the boom is dry. After this, open all valves at strainers and main tanks and done.

I am thinking the system can handle up to 120 psi but 40 psi is all that is probably needed.
