SW OH | Ours has paid for itself many times over. One of the last hoses we had made was about 2 feet long and cost around $100 plus a 40 mile round trip. We can make that hose today for less than $15.
The crimper itself can be used with any brand of crimp fittings. They all do the same thing, make the ferrule that's X diameter Y diameter. It may not be a simple process, but it can be done. We have a Gates 707. I have crimped several different brands of fittings with it.
One thing to consider is you won't have every fitting you need. So it might be in your best interest to pick a brand that you can readily get fittings if your not comfortable crossing brands.
