Southeastern Alberta | Have a 2006 Volvo with a Cummins ISX in it (CM870) that started leaking at the back of cylinder 6 on the head gasket. Also seems to be pressuring up the coolant tank when warm, so something isn't ideal on the inside. I assume it isn't just a gasket, but probably a cracked head. Its an older truck with a transmission that I don't particularly enjoy (Meritor freedomline 12 speed) that I don't think putting 20 to 50 thousand dollars in on a truck worth 20 at the most makes sense. I have a 50 mile haul, and if push comes to shove, this truck can become a farm truck and sit under a water trailer for the rest of its life.
I know all the super truckers say never use any sort of coolant stop leak product. But I would like to find something to try that other guys have had luck with because I am far from a super trucker. | |
