NE Indiana | We put in a new VariAir system this year and it has their precleaner that looks similar to those turbo2 precleaner from older tractors. The blower sits right beside the dryer, and we didn't have time this year to get some extension pipes to move the filter away, so it was also right beside the dryer. Figured we would just blow it out every day and then move the filter for next year. After the first day there was absolutely nothing on the filter. Then after about halfway through harvest I checked it again and still basically nothing. All done now and never blew the filter out once. Dried somewhere around 150k bushel. Our old blower system sat in the same spot, and we had to blow the filter out every day or it would plug, so the precleaner must have worked very well. | |
