East Central Arkansas
I have our JD 6500 fixed so I can blow out with air. First thing you need to remember is your just removing the water that will freeze so before blowing out you need to first clean and flush system with water and some sort of detergent. Depending on the detergent used probably a good idea to flush with clean water last.
I installed a T in the pressure line ahead of the regulating valve. On this T I have a short length of hose with a valve and a male air hose disconnect. I installed a valve on the pressure side of pump that I close to blow out. I remove the plug from pump to drain it and the hose from bottom of strainer so it drains.
I normally don't have pressure on air compressor or very little when I start. Start air compressor after turning on spray valves. Have to be sure air blows through everything that has water in it. I manually run regulating valve back and forth and be sure you open and blow through any bypass. When through on any ball valves only leave halfway open so no water behind ball. Has worked for years for me. Just have to study system and be sure you blow water from everything.
