| Thanks for your input. You are correct that the top section (about 2/3 of the holding capacity) has its own large fan and burner as well as the bottom has its own section w a smaller fan and burner. That’s why I set both plenums to the same temperature setting hoping to cook the entire dryer to a consistent temp. The dryer is capable of cooking the top and cooling the bottom in smaller staged batches but my limitation is that I’m constantly using the grain leg to unload trucks then switching for the batch unload. The less unloading the better to keep the trucks moving. We avoid dropping hot grain due to condensation and then the grain getting moldy. I’ll admit the elevator setup is not the best for efficiency by today’s standards but was really nice when it was built for the yields of 30 years ago. Thanks again | |
