It is totally up to you and just depends how aggressive you want it to be.  We run 15s on a 30" machine but have ran 19s in the past.  The wider it is the more weeds.....and crop....you'll kill.

I tried the shoup shares and they wore out fast as they were not hard surfaced.  Hard surfaced will last 3-4 times longer in my soils.
