Subject: RE: case IH 496 vertical tillage conversion

20 miles west of Indianapolis Indiana

i doubt it.

i have a sunflower 6630. and when it leaves the corn stalk field in the fall you are wondering why you wasted your time when you don't have it set up well. especially when its real dry and hasn't rained on stalks yet.

but in the spring i can pull a case 4300 with 5 bar basket behind it and its great for early bean planting. this year i'm going to try to plant directly into in the spring on some acres and then some i'm going to try to go over twice this fall and see what that does in the spring. i have a friend doing that with a case newer disc and planting strait into in spring.

the weight of the newer tools is what makes em work more than the blades IMO.

what is your goal with this? mine was more even seed bed conditions and earlier soybean planting conditions in spring.
