NWMO | IMO buy or built a basket setup for rear... Or sell and buy a smooth blade VT... Have not seen happy results with the wavy blade fad??? They have half a$$ scraper setup on most all... that plug in mildly wet soil then drag up a hump that needs a construction piece of equipment to fix or you will be bouncing over it for years... Only wavy blade tools that run straight work right... They also wear faster than smooth cone blades... Now we took a Deere 2623VT and added regular scrapers and smooth blades to rear section... It's heavy enough to get it in ground and keep narrow spacing plus you get the Hyd Basket... These can be found cheap as no one wants them because they plug rear gangs with factory waves... Even tried Khun style cone waves on it with not much better results... But adding smooth blades made it a good heavy tool... we run it and a Salford VT depending on what we are after... Deere VT in spring/fall or to remove weeds and Salford in spring to warm up, dry out and smooth up ground... Salford dosen't work in fall stalks as they blow around... But it will go anywhere and not plug in wet spring conditions... Planter seems to work better behind salford... Smoother ride and better closing of trench... Deere leaves it a little too loose but works if needed... Notill most of bean planting and run Salford in front of corn planter... Maybe it's just a here thing... Goodluck | |
