Subject: JD5xxxM turn signal switch

Has anyone ever replaced this switch. It is in that module under the steering wheel. After you get the steering wheel off, there are 7 Phillips screws deeply recessed in the bottom cover to release the top cover.. You never get to see them except with a mirror. Deere says they are some sort of Posi grip screw with what looks like a square center. I believe they were assembled at the factory with a power driver and snugged tight with an extra spin or two just to be sure. I got 6 out with a No1 square bit and a 1/4 end wrench but number 7 is messed up. Oh, and because they are screwed into plastic, they fight you all the way to falling on the floor. The plan today is to drill out the head to pop the top off. I will be a contortionist any day in a sound guard cab with just 4 cap screws and you can have you hand on the light switch.
