I like the idea with the stirator flighting.
I'm thinking it could be even simpler.
Just mount a piece of pipe big enough to get the stirator flight through where you are going to make a hole for the shaft, aim the pipe toward the sump, and when the time comes use your driver to screw in the flighting, and then reverse the direction of the driver and hold it from backing out and auger the corn to the sump.
