I also have heat pump with propane. 4500 watt generator easily runs central heat, propane only. It will not run heat pump. 9000 watt generator might run heat pump, if it has 50 amp output.
Do it right and have electrician install transfer switch and run your central heat. You don’t need to buy heaters.

I can also select heat only, or emergency heat right on t-stat box. Doesn’t run heat pump on those, just propane burner and fan. HVAC supplier may be able to upgrade t-stat controls, they are not that expensive.
