Not sure I understand all of the questions, you want this to clear the door like a secondary sump/vs jumping in with a shovel? Seems like a solid idea, might borrow it myself.
Hydraulic motor with a quick drive adapter of some time, hex nut with socket or splines? chain saw with a pulley on it and hold tight with a belt, like the mini tractor pullers use to start the motors
