China holds the leverage in rare earth minerals because they have a near monopoly on processing technologies to make rare earth minerals a usable product

Argentina only has potential of rare earth minerals in undeveloped mines. Argentina holds no leverage in current rare earth minerals against China. USA actually has a better chance of utilizing rare earth minerals than Argentina because we have at least started to mine some.

We will only be better off in the minds of Trump supporters if they actual believe the fantasy world in which he proclaims. For instance Trump has repeatedly claimed he has brought 17 trillion of foreign investment into USA , and yet there is no source showing where this 17 trillion is accounted for.

The real leverage is in that the Supreme Court will rule on the legality of the President having complete power for unilateral tariffs, when the rule of law specifically states that congress has tariff power

USA is desperately trying to make a deal before the Supreme Court decision. China will make a few unenforceable concessions, which will be spun by Trump as the greatest victory ever known to mankind. No doubt he will state that he will now have brought over 20 trillion to the USA after this negotiation concludes
