So you are saying price had nothing to do with planting 6 million less acres of soybeans yoy? Price had nothing to do with planting 8 million more acres of corn? Price wasn't influenced by policy that ultimately determined those acres? I call BS. Everyone keeps comparing prices to last year at this time which is completely flawed way of looking at things. The August wasde had old crop corn down to 1305 and yet we couldn't manage a rally all year? What would have happened to corn price had we not switched so many acres? Why didn't soybeans manage to rally at all this year with that drastic of a cut in acres? Because perceived demand had been greatly influenced by policy and so far that has found to be very accurate. Ridiculous so many are allowing their politics to stop them from seeing the obvious.

If you look at ehoff’s price chart circled in red- the price decline started in early 2024. The precipitous drop was early 2024.

If you look at it politically, you’d say the market knew in early 2024 just how big of a “combined” turd the blue team put forward because bean prices absolutely collapsed for 6-8 months prior to the election. If that is your thesis, The political prognosticators had their heads so far up their own a$$es, they could see China.

If you look at the price chart from a demand perspective, supply must be adequately to somewhat excessive OR new bean oil demand for SAF was so far out there / the chance of its success was minor. For whatever “green policy” initiative the previous admin wanted to enact to REDUCE carbon, bean oil was never going to be the “thang”….. Used cooking oil from China and Brazilian cane ethanol were going to be the “decarbonized” tax grabbing $$$$ subsidies. Or, The EU wasn’t going to slap “deforestation” levies /penalties against Brazil for chopping down trees to supply global beans. Brazil kept the D11’s running and kept adding acres. Why the EU says that deforestation only occurs in Madagascar, Belarus, and Russia is beyond me….?
