
| Small percentage tariff's are normally to operate ones import/export system. a 3% tariff, like, say, most of Europe has, isn't really trade distorting. Even the standard 8% tariff that China had/has/who the hell knows now, had on U.S. soybeans? On the other hand, 35% and 100% tariff's are 100% trade distorting. Quota's, are trade distorting. guess what the U.S. may have well given up it's status as the lead player over this. |
