SE IL | Honestly the service economy is a load of bull ****. No country has ever become great by consuming, it requires producing. Look at the US in post war era compared to the last 25 years since China has joined the wto. They play the long game and have manipulated trade in their favor to slowly dominate every major industry. Even Obama realized this, and Biden. For those who have forgot Biden left nearly all of Trump 1 tariffs in place, and even added a few.
Edit: so yes I agree not many things arent national security to a degree. Nothing wrong with imported cheaper items, but we should never become fully dependent on them. This certainly applies to unfriendly countries who aren’t aligned with our way of thinking. Much less a problem to rely on a long standing ally.
