If theArgentinian/Mexican beef could be held to the same standards of growers here ,wage environmental etc then there would be no issues.
Kinda ironic statement since Canada as well as numerous other countries have resisted against beef and milk imports from the USA because our criteria for quality are higher than yours. We would have to reduce our standards to compete with USA beef/milk imports.

Always wondered how it was cheaper to ship me asparagus from Peru. Them Peruvian asparagus farmer must be dirt cheap labor. Was not very pleased with the quality last time I ate either.
Are the asparagus cheaper or just in season - winter being summer over there and such. I agree that the taste and texture of veggies/fruit shipped over long distances don't compare to locally produced. |
