Subject: More beef origin questions

Nebraska aka the boondocks
I am now curious how all this works, and my big city brother has been quizzing me and I have no answers. Let’s take Nebraska as an example. A local 40,000 head lot…. Surely all these animals are from the area? They go to Tyson or Jbs and distributed. Are there animals on feed in say Texas that are from Mexico?
How about the imported stuff, Argentina, Brazil etc. does say McDonald’s have its own distribution line and it is unloaded and goes straight to their warehouse? Do they buy supply willy nilly and blend it all together? Does Ruth’s Chris know where their product is coming from when they buy? In Nebraska we talk about corn fed beef all the time, but what is to stop any retailer from buying Australian and just calling it corn fed? No since of going on and on, but in the current climate it would be nice to have clarity . I think most people would love to be supportive.
Probably can solve the issue by buying a side locally, but most of us buy hand to mouth.
