Use some common sense, a lot of things change after Aug 1 it’s why things get adjusted later, just like every farmers yield expectations change right up until harvest. .

One thing I have come to learn, is that when talking crop conditions or size, blanket statements are never good. So, for my area, not the entire Midwest, the handwriting was on the wall well before Aug 1, about the crop not living up to the hype.

As far as using common sense….did some of the challenges magically appear after Aug 1… or were there indicators that potential problems were out there.

But then we have….farmers killing the crop..….again.

You had a drought down there didn't you? I'm guessing I'm 2 hours from you +/- 30 min and it wouldn't stop raining here for most of July and August.
I think tar spot and other diseases is getting worse. A friend in Iowa said if they didn't spray 2 passes of fungicide, there was a lot of yield loss. We spray 1 pass and it works great. A lot of neighbors don't spray any at all.
