There is a bunch of yield determined in August so why put out numbers in early August when the guess is no different than July? What is would be wrong with waiting until there is actual evidence of what the yield is instead of might be? Sure August 1 you can start taking a guess at what the corn yield might be but we have seen temperature, disease and moisture still mean a tremendous amount during August to determine final yield.
