Gonna be some lessons in humility for the self righteous kowboi. From either increased imports or reduced demand when the general population goes for the pork chops or chicken instead of the ribeye. Shaming your consumer who has concerns about what they can afford to feed themselves with isn't the best way to keep customers
I’ll piss off some fellow livestock folks for this but this is my opinion.
Pork and chicken aren’t in the same league as beef. The taste isn’t there. The texture isn’t there. The palatability isn’t there. There’s a reason that pork and chicken battle for the other white meat to taste the possibility…
That, and how many consumers on vacation actually see a chicken or pig outside? You don’t. Modern confinement PREVENTS the consumer from seeing their food in a more “natural” environment.
