Oh yeah, heard all about it. Don't think anybody is too serious about expanding the herd size given the response to the heifer retention subsidy. I guess paying 4-5k on heifers at 7% interest in hopes the cattle market is a dollar or two higher than it is now in 18 months when the first group of calves go to the sale barn is the only way to increase cow numbers.
