| I used to think grain guys whined excessively. They aren’t even a close second to wanna be cowboys.
Cattle prices at near record highs— and they whine.
I looked at 2 sets of breds. One heifers—$4,000/head due late March, and $5,500 for a set of 3 and 4 year old registered dinks that couldn’t raise a decent feedlot animal if you breed them to a Chi bull, strait from Italy.
Saw a pen last week with probably 80% short ears. 2 rounds of implants at the feedlot and they might go late December at maybe 75 lbs under breakeven. Lots of poor quality cattle out there today. South American beef will likely be an improvement, | |
